Coltin, I continue to pray for your family and I’m sorry for everything that happened.
I had a question, what is your perspective on the theological or exclusive idea of ”God is pruning his church”? When the disciples have really left due to abuse, misunderstanding or injustice with the leadership.
Honestly, I’m scared. I am an intern and this idealization of fellowship and control of numbers (baptisms, special offerings) scares me to be an evangelist. I look forward to hearing your perspective. Thanks for being brave.

Hi there – so sorry for what you’ve been through ! Been there too with Kip. I have been through it in the ICOC since 1988. Very long story , but we are with the HEALING ICOC still . KIP WAS THE PROBLEM! We ( my entire extended family are disciples) would’ve left if his teachings were not abandoned. The church here in Boston , now , is a growing , faithful, brotherhood. We have moved to start churches , we’ve led in so many positions – I lead a physically challenged ministry / a housebound ministry ( tho I am not / and a wives of husbands w addiction ministry ….all for the care of the weak and sidelined. The church is now a haven – vs when Kip was here: we were “ products that didn’t produce “. So unlike Jesus. Do I just had to share that God did not throw out the baby with the bath water with the ICOC. We just needed to get rid of Kip and his ungodly ways. God bless ! Hang in there 💙

Yes, forgiveness is In your heart…and only if you truly loved can you forgive…or WANT to forgive…
This is from my heart.
Same thing with bitterness…one can’t remain bitter with another unless one of them really didn’t love the other. Whoever really loved…could not possibly stay bitter and/ or not forgive the other.
It’s in the HEART.
